The frustrated agonizings of a mind
undone,
life, be thou though a cruel mistress
yet,
and she grins,
she has a smile like her mother,
a Jezebelle, a barracuda.
and her eyes are pitch,
and her fingers are handles, needles,
and she will drag you down,
break you,
take you,
shake you to your bloody broken bones.
i dreamt the ceiling was raining
all ace of spades.
and splat spat fire and brimstone
the world became a chrysallis of ice,
a fragile crystal-lest the war break not your surface--!
i shall wait.
