All Deviations

needles
devouring technopop bright-eyed cocaine
at a nonstop pace
your dna
from the inside out--
no, outside in
as you try to collapse upon yourself
by eating skin for skin
if apples can have flesh
why can the throat not be
the scarlet apple, the red temptation
your hair falls away
to reveal a naked flaw
lying back on bleached covers
as the IV screws you
over and over and over again
your Drip is life,
keep letting it sink in
swan girl blue
cerulean and despairing
trinketless
guileless
where are you now,
who are you now
to declare yourself
as free.

Wherever this came from, it's FULL of energy.
Really quite amazing, how you do that. <3

 Sometimes, we can't help, and I know it hurts, but know that the rest of us are here for you.

A good morbid poem does the body wonders, and the mind as well. Well done. c:

T w T; Thank you so much, hun. I'm glad you think this piece has energy--I'd like to hope it at least has emotion. = x = <3

Jeez.
This entire thing is just one devastatingly beautiful blow after another. It brings you mentally to your knees in the best possible way.
Also I just have a THING for needle/IV imagery, possibly because nothing scares me more on the face of the whole damn planet. (Except for spiders, planes and clowns. ._. Write a poem about all four in one, and I guarantee ye I'll have nightmares, and love the hell out of it. xD) And ye did this really, really effectively.

I love the disjointed-ness of it all. It keeps you off-balance and off-kilter and unsure, until the words are the only thing to hold onto.

= Best words I've read all week. Keep this up, please, and thank you for sharing this with us. And for goodness' sake, don't scrap it! xD Or rather - do, if ye really feel ye want to, it's yers and yers alone, but I think it's wonderful in that horrid sort of way. <3

This is one of the best comments I've gotten in such a long time from a new reader! T w T thank you so much--to know that you found it both beautiful and emotionally moving is such a blessing to me.
And I hear you! 8\ I have phobias with ALL of those, dang! When I was little, I misbehaved at the circus and my father threatened to sell me to the clowns. :'x been scared of them ever snce.
I'm very pleased you liked the disjointed quality of the poem. = w = it means a lot to me.
I'm also glad those words resonated with you. Thank you for sharing your insight. I don't think I will scrap it. XD Thanks for all the compliments, I'm so flattered!

Aww, yer so very welcome! When I read something I really like, I can't NOT write out exactly what I think of it! And I'm a strong believer in that, if somebody makes or writes something ye like, TELL THEM! Because far too many artists/writers/musicians/creators never get TOLD if they make something really neat, so they never know anyone likes it, and then they stop, and the world has suffered a real loss then! n-n SO. YAY!

@_@ OH DEAR FORD. Sell you to clowns? Poor baby! :petting: That's seriously... horrific. Agh. I can see why that would be traumatizing for life! When I was a kid, there was this creepy little clown nightlight in my grandparents' house, and I would always hate going to visit them because in the guest bedroom, they would always insist on putting in that damn nightlight, and it was just... GRINNING at me in the dark, GLOWING, all DEMONIC-LIKE. Think that's what started it!
