"And Kay looked at her. She was very beautiful; a more clever, or a more lovely countenance he could not fancy to himself; and she no longer appeared of ice as before, when she sat outside the window, and beckoned to him; in his eyes she was perfect, he did not fear her at all, and told her that he could calculate in his head and with fractions, even; that he knew the number of square miles there were in the different countries, and how many inhabitants they contained; and she smiled while he spoke." - "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Anderson.
"There was a young Felaysian who was very spoiled and cruel to his best friend. One day, the Queen of the Fair Court, Vivienne, was out walking. She came upon the little boy; who wept over the glass in his eye. Kissing him better, the Queen asked what had happened, but the boy, seizing the opportunity to gain power over her, spoke her whole name, which he had heard his best friend whisper. Powerless by all his demands, Vivienne was forced to obey his every whim until the boy's avarice caused him death. That is the true story of the supposed Snow Queen. Next we have the tale of Snow White and Rose Red..."

"When the sea falls from the shore, As the light sinks low, will I see you any more? As the rain falls from the sky, Can I bring you back, from a distant lullaby?
Show me your vision, the story begun, Two lights are rising and burning as one...
In the deep blue of the night, Shine the millions of stars and my spirit burning bright... Spinning on, into the sun, flying higher, Now my journey's begun...
And the cold, cold wind, it blows me away.. The feeling all over is a black, black day... But I know that I'll see you again, And I know that you're near me.
There's a star, calling my name, It's echo is true and the song is not the same... Take my hand and lead me away, Bring me back to you in your arms I'm going to stay...
Tell me your vision, the story begun, Two lights are rising and burning as one...
All those years drifting in space, I have known you well, yet I've never seen your face... You turn around, looking at me, laughter in your eyes, And now I can see!
And the cold, cold wind, it blows me away... The feeling all over is a black, black day! But I know that I'll see you again... And I know that you're near me..."
- "Across the Universe of Time" - Hayley Westenra.
At first glance I was reminded of Jadis, mostly by her face. But your Seelie interpretation shows her to be much softer/gentler than the Snow Queen or the White Witch Vivienne appears very beautiful and graceful in contrast to the boy Good luck for the contest!
* w * omg me too! Jadis was such a creeper, though. |\ Anyways, I'm glad you found this to be more beautiful and less, well...cruel. That's exactly what I was going for. The contrast and all. Vivienne is another character in my stories who is very near and dear to me. I hope to have more up about her soon. |] thank you for a lovely comment, and for the luck!
